Meet Emily

I’m Emily. A St. Louis editorial wedding photographer with a calm presence and a strong eye for detail.

I’ve always noticed light, movement, and the way people interact with the spaces around them. Weddings bring all of that together. Style, energy, emotion, and design all at once. That’s what draws me in.

The way publications like Vogue approach storytelling through imagery has influenced how I see a wedding day. Style and real emotion working together, not competing for attention. That balance shapes the way I photograph.

My couples care about how their wedding feels and how it looks. They want photographs that feel elevated but still real. Nothing overly posed. Nothing performative. Just thoughtful guidance when it matters and the space to be fully in the moment when it doesn’t.

Most of the time, you won’t feel like you’re being constantly photographed. When direction is needed, I give it clearly and quickly so you can get back to actually enjoying your day.

The goal is simple.
To help you look your best, feel like yourself, and move through your wedding day with space to be present.

There’s a difference between photos that look good in the moment and photos that still feel like something years from now. Weddings move fast, and the day rarely slows down on its own. There’s a lot happening and a lot of expectation around how everything should look. As a St. Louis editorial wedding photographer, my role is to slow things down just enough so you can actually feel where you are while it’s all unfolding.

When you’re present, the photographs follow. The result is images that feel connected to your life, not just to a single day but to everything surrounding it.

Over time, I’ve learned what makes a photograph last isn’t perfection. It’s recognition. You should be able to look at your photos and immediately feel like they belong to you and your world. The way your friends laugh together. The way your family gravitates toward you. The atmosphere of the room once everything is in motion. Those are the details that give images weight and keep them from feeling generic or interchangeable.

The Approach

What It Feels Like To Be Photographed

Working with a St. Louis editorial wedding photographer should feel easy, not overwhelming.

From the first conversation to the final gallery, my approach is structured but relaxed. I’ll guide you through what matters, step in when direction helps, and step back when the moment speaks for itself.

Portraits are intentional but never stiff. Timelines are thoughtful but never rushed. The energy stays calm, so you can stay present.

You will always know what to do with your hands, where to stand, and when to simply enjoy what’s happening around you. Nothing forced. Nothing overly produced. Just a balance of editorial direction and genuine moments that actually feel like your day.

The images you end up loving most are rarely the ones you planned for.

It’s your mom seeing you fully dressed for the first time. Your dad trying to keep it together and almost succeeding. Your friends reaching for you the second you hit the dance floor. Your grandparents holding your hands just a little longer than usual.

The way it feels to have every version of your life in one room.
That’s what you’ll come back to.

A NOTE ON STYLE

The Standard

I don’t force emotion.
I don’t chase trends.
I don’t overdirect what’s already working.

I care about presence.
I care about energy.
I care how your images will age.

Some moments are guided.
Most are simply noticed.
All of them are intentional.

Most couples who reach out are looking for a St. Louis editorial wedding photographer who can balance strong direction with space to actually experience the day.
